About
My primary passion is grooming young minds and making them realize their own possibilities. I am an academic at heart. I enjoy building competency (knowledge, process, mindset) and in University, I am redoing what I did in corporate world. As a teacher, besides teaching a subject, I teach how to think. I am now a learner, an educator and a researcher. I am one of the founding members of Dept of CSE (AI & ML) in PES University and is part of it's growth story. As a research guide, I participate actively instead of providing just executive guidance. I have worked for 26+ years first in Indian Space Research Organization and subsequently in industry in various roles in all parts of the product life cycle i.e. consulting, professional services, and engineering both as individual contributor and as manager/director. I have worked both in system software and application software in diverse domains i.e. networking, finance and automobile. So, I am comfortable with changing the playground. My management experience has been mostly in product engineering and change management in engineering organizations. Curiosity, constant learning, and embracing changes are my key values. What I carry forward into the current academic setup are my management training, deep and broad exposure to industry (services and products), and ability to spot as well as mentor high-performers, and lead from the front. I usually lose interest in the obvious. Through my corporate years, I developed a keen interest in the macro patterns instead of the corporate ladder and my current passion in research is a continuation of that journey.
