Shahid Aziz
Assistant Professor
About
Shahid Aziz received B.E. in Electronics Engineering from University of Pune in 2009, M.Tech. in Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in 2014 and presently nearing his Ph.D. completion from NIT Patna. He served as an Assistant Professor at Maulana Azad College of Engineering and Technology, Patna for nearly a decade in various capacities until September 2023. In October 2023, Shahid Aziz joined PES University, Bengaluru, as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering. His research interests are primarily focused on speech and audio processing, with a specific emphasis on Speaker Verification Systems for children. Currently, his research revolves around developing a robust short-utterance based children’s speaker verification system. Mr. Aziz is an active member of professional organizations such as the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), IEEE, IEEE Signal Processing Society, International Speech Communication Association (ISCA).Outside of academia, he has been appointed to the role of an NTA Observer for the National Testing Agency, Ministry of Education, Government of India. In this capacity, since 2019, he has monitored the conduct of prestigious national-level high-stakes entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions in India and abroad.
