Dr. M. Shalima Sulthana is an accomplished academician and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) at PES University, Electronic City Campus, Bengaluru. With over seven years of teaching and research experience, she has contributed significantly to the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and computer vision. She earned her Ph.D. in Machine Learning from Yogi Vemana University, where her research focused on innovative gravitational force-based machine learning techniques for face detection and classification. Her work introduces novel approaches to handling challenges such as illumination variation, noise, and rotation in facial recognition systems. She also holds an M.Tech in Computer Science with distinction from JNTU Anantapur and a B.Tech in Information Technology. Dr. Sulthana is a recognized Research Supervisor at PES University, approved by the Research Council and Academic Council to guide doctoral scholars in Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML). Her research portfolio includes over 25 journal publications and multiple conference papers, many indexed in reputed databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. Her work spans areas including cybersecurity, cloud computing, image processing, and machine learning applications. She is also an innovator with granted UK patents in AI-driven healthcare systems and IoT-based remote monitoring solutions. Her contributions have been recognized with accolades such as the Young Researcher Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and she has qualified national-level examinations including APSET and APRCET. An active member of professional bodies such as IAENG and SDIWC, Dr. Sulthana regularly participates in academic and research communities. She has delivered keynote addresses, guest lectures, and seminars at various national and international forums, emphasizing research excellence and emerging technologies in AI. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has guided over 100 undergraduate projects and organized numerous workshops, faculty development programs, and technical events.
